Steve Ellis News

It’s that time of year again folks, when we don the boots, rucksack and head-off around the countryside visiting all the villages within the Gauzebrook Group. The  “Gauzebrook Gallivant” is so much more than just another charity walk ~ its an adventure, a chance to relax and take in stunning countryside, chat to folk from villages across the Parish, a time to enjoy a good walk.

Since the “Gauzebrook Gallivant” started in 2016we have made some great friends across the community, all with shared and fond recollections…memories such as the ‘the mammoth path clearing of 2016‘, ‘the children’s walk of 2017‘; ‘super friendships forged’, ‘the hospitality of so many’ and of course ‘the foodoh yeah…so many yummy treats!’

So please come and join us for the whole walk (around 20 miles) or just sections between villages, we welcome everyone…

As already mentioned, the “Gauzebrook Gallivant” is not just a walk, its a bringing together of the villages and villagers for a common aim as a community. Each village kindly sponsors refreshments as we pass through….so much so, it was almost renamed the “Gauzebrook Graze” after the amazing generosity of the 2016 walk. Post-walk we converge on the newly refurbished Stanton Manor Hotel who have once again for the 3rd year running kindly offered to sponsor the event, with a feast of sandwiches and refreshments, and a chance to relax in the grounds.

All of the donations you make each year go such a long way to supporting the amazing and important work that Becky Fisher undertakes as the ‘Gauzebrook Churches Children’s Worker‘. Along with the numerous volunteers around the community they all help enrich the lives of young people in the Gauzebrook Group of villages – Stanton St Quintin, Alderton, Luckington, Sherson, Easton Grey, Bremilham, Foxley, Norton and Hullavington

Your donations really do make a difference!

Once you have donated, please let us know, so that we can a) have an idea of how many folk are joining us on the walk and on which legs, and b) we can let Stanton Manor Hotel know how many to cater for at the post-walk refreshments.
